Prof Ayadi featured at the empowerME newsletter published by the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East

The President of EMEA and Senior Advisor at CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies), Prof. Rym Ayadi, participated at the “Big Question” section of the  August empowerME newsletter, in which top experts, government officials, and business leaders are asked for their take on a key question.

This month’s question was: “The debate between protecting public health or keeping the economy open continues as variants spread with possibly more to emerge in the future. What policy measures most effectively help balance lost lives versus lost livelihoods?”

Prof. Ayadi highlighted that “Governments should keep investing in R&D for more effective vaccines and treatments, strengthen social infrastructure for better healthcare preparedness, implement stricter contagion containment policies that proved effective and adapt them when needed, promote policies that enhance solidarity and fiscal justice, and boost transparency for public accountability.”

empowerME at the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East is shaping solutions to empower entrepreneurs, women, and youth and building coalitions of public and private partnerships to drive regional economic integration, prosperity, and job creation.
