The fourth seminar in the 12-month INVESTMED training programme will take place on Tuesday 25th January, at 10:00 CET.  The seminar is co-organised by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) and LUMSA University, project partners of the EU-funded INVESTMED project.

The seminar will focus on how new businesses can integrate principles of circular economy, and will feature an expert panel from the fashion, building and agro-food sectors.

Transitioning to a green economy is a key concern for countries and regions across the world. One of the challenges in achieving this transition is the move from linear production processes towards closed cycle production and consumption behaviour. This implies a major disruption to the way business models have traditionally been envisaged, but also represents an opportunity to add value to products, use resources more efficiently in production, and reduce negative environmental impacts of businesses’ operations.

Speakers Giorgio Mosangini from the Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production, Mauro Manca from Evergreen, and Victor Falguera from AKIS International will discuss how to integrate the principles of circular economy into business plans, based on their own experiences and track records of building businesses in different sectors in the Mediterranean region.
