EMEA President Prof. Rym Ayadi lectures on Financing Infrastructure Development at ADB Institute

The President of the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, Prof. Rym Ayadi lectures on financing infrastructure development in the e-learning course “sustainable and Quality Infrastructure Beyond the COVID-19 Pandemic” of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).

The course examines shifts in infrastructure needs during the COVID-19 crisis and ways to advance new projects critical to sustainable and inclusive recovery amid difficult post-pandemic financing conditions. It is based on policy guidance produced by the Group of 20’s (G20) official think tank engagement group, the Think20 (T20), and provides valuable insights that are applicable to both developing and developed economies.

Prof. Ayadi’s lecture is based on the following policy papers:

· “Sustainable and Quality Infrastructure Beyond the Covid-19 Pandemic: Proposals for New Financing Models”, co-authored by Prof. Rym Ayadi – Professor at The Bayes Business School and President of EMEA, Dina Azhgaliyeva – Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Tetsushi Sonobe – Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and Nella Sri Hendriyetty – Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), published by the Task Force 7: Infrastructure Investment and Financing, of the T20 on October 2021

· “Debt Relief for Sustainable Recovery in Low and Middle Income Countries”, co-authored by Prof. Rym Ayadi – Professor at The Bayes Business School and President of EMEA, Sameera Al Tuwaijri, World Bank, and Basma Maziad Al-Tuwaijri, ASBAR, published by the Task Force 5: 2030 Agenda and Development Cooperation, of the T20 on October 2021

· “Time to Implement a Tech-Driven Sovereign Debt Transparency Initiative: Concept, Design, and Policy Actions”, co-authored by Prof. Rym Ayadi – Professor at The Bayes Business School and President of EMEA, and Prof. Emilios Avgouleas, Chair International Banking Law and Finance, University of Edinburgh, published by the Task Force 8: International Financial Architecture, of the T20 on October 2020.
